Doggie Bounce = Macarena + Who let the dogs out?

The video for Doggie Bounce is funny, and its not that hard to tell what influenced the video. Take a look at the video of ´96 hit Macarena. The video is almost an exact copy. And the song itself reminds me of course of "Who let the dogs out". I hate that song. Altogether nice parody of crappy one-hit-wonders and their songs.

Albi, then & now

Albi in front of a live audience.

Albi in the HBO show.

Inner City Pressure!

FOTC has many fun songs and videos but do you ever get the feeling that they look familiar, but you can't really tell why they are like that. For example the song "Inner City Pressure", I get it and it funny but at first I couldn't tell from what it is a parody from. Now I know. Watch the videos below and spot the similarities. :)

All the ladies in the world - a comparison

Another song, two different versions. First one from Australian TV show, another from the HBO show.

Old:

HBO:

Evolution of Business time

Another comparison of old version and the version from the HBO show. This time its Business time ;)

Old version:

HBO:

Evolution of the Bowie song

It's quite interesting to surf YouTube for Flight of the Conchords videos. And what's more interesting, is to compare the old videos to the ones featured in the HBO series. See for yourself, the old version of the Bowie song and the version from the TV show. Both are funny but in different way, of course the old one is fun because its in front of a live audience. And the latter is a little more "ready" and slick.

The older video:

TV show:

Fan fiction

Some very funny fan fiction, great writing, Jemaine ad Bret could have written that!

TVScoop writer Anna Waits has chosen all scenes with Murray Hewitt as one of her favorite moments on TV this year. I for one, agree with Anna. Read her post here.
